A NEW YEAR 2006!

It seems that Time has left me struggling behind in her bid to race through lives, and how am I supposed to catch up? I felt this most keenly when I was typing out some emails to some people I haven't spoken to /contacted in quite a while. It was really heartening to get the replies back, and to continue corresponding as such. Haha there was one email particularly heartening.. haha thank you marcus (:

I can't believe I missed rachel's bbq! ): It was a perfect opportunity to catch up with everyone, and she couldn't get me. I've changed my home number btw, so if you want it, sms thanks.


Today is the very last of the holidays, and as usual I went out to explore my new world, which I have been doing this entire week. My last taste of freedom was back in my home ground ivory heights! I saw so many old friends / neighbours- brandon, shawn, mich, lynette..

And then I realised that every single new year I've spent in the Ivory Hts condo community, never did I not hear the resounding cheers of goodwill echoing through the whole estate. There will always be people at the playground playing sparklers and screaming happy new year!!, and there will always be the people in their homes shouting back through their windows. And during Singapore Idol, when the winner was annouced, there were so many screams of TAUFIKKK everywhere, so even if you didn't watch the programme, you'll be sure to know who won.

I miss that I suppose.
But moving on..

We finally surfaced mum's italian paintings today, after 4 months of hibernation, and we took a whole hour thinking of different ways to hang them. There was one hideous Rome one that my mum insisted should have centerstage, but it was too hideous. I mean, maybe my tastes aren't towards impressionism / expressionism, but hey, when the beautiful streets of Rome look like slums of the fourth world variety, however expensive the painting is, it just won't click. She refused to throw it away anyhow, so we agreed to a little spot by the corner of my canary yellow wall. Thankfully the Vienna ones are prominent though.

There's project runway and Grey's anatomy today!! Die wendy die.

Hooray. Monday is my fav. tv day. It used to be thursday, but Lost is so gone now.. Grey's anatomy is such a great show anyhow. Quote Real life only comes in shades of grey. end quote. (:
